There are also free and purchasable themes for blogs already set up for adsense. These are great as long as adsense (or an alternative) is a key part of your particular online blogging strategy. But take care.
The same rule applies with your blogs as with your websites. Monetize by all means but be careful that your adsense ads and or affiliate links do not distract your readers and take their attention away from your own products.
I actually do both. I have blogs which focus on my own product related niches and I have other blogs that are monetized with Adsense.
